Pg. 32 - (An Ensemble with a difference): To bring balance, variety and relevance, an example of his production of the sanskrit 'Prahasan Mattavilas' written by Mahendra Vikram. Pg. 43 - (Interface of Tradition and Modernity): Elements of traditional forms have been used by him and specially in 'Avanban Katamba' and 'Karim Kuti'. Pg. 80 - At the instance of Kalidasa Festival he agreed to undertake the production of 'Madhyama Vyayoga' in 1980. Subsequently he produced 'Dootavakaya' for them at Ujjain and also Bhasa's 'Urubhang' in Hindi with the students of NSD in 1983 and then 'Karnabhara' in Sanskrit with his own troupe. Pg. 81 - Panikkar in his 'Madhayama Vyayoga' attempted to explore, apart from the basic human feelings, a deeper meaning of middle-ness, revealing a phlosophical dimension. It was first performed during SNA's west zone theatre festival in Panaji and then in their national festival in Delhi. Pg. 50 - Panikkar's play advocates a metaphysical, spritual conception of the world and according to the author it does not challenge the ritualistic and religious world out look of the Bhils, It only philosophises it. Pg. 88 - (Quest for Indianness): According to the author Panikkar's "Mattavilas" by the seventh century Mahendra Verman was so Indian that it managed to be nothing else.
